Recoating Instructions

Instructions for Standard Paint Finishes:

To ensure good adhesion, sand all surfaces with 300 or 400 grit sandpaper. Surface must be dry and free of oil, dust, dirt or any other foreign substances. For Epoxy powder coat or High Solids coated products, wet wipe all surfaces with Alphatic Solvent or detergent wash. (Always follow instructions provided by your paint manufacturer).

To avoid discoloration of Alkyd finishes, do not bake over 250 degrees F. Saginaw Control & Engineering primer finishes are:

1. Epoxy Polyester Powder Coat
2. High Solids

Compatible paints are:

1. All Industrial Enamel
2. Acrylic Enamel
3. Epoxy

For any other type of paint, check with your paint manufacturer to be sure the paint you are applying is compatible with the paint on your SCE product.
